I think it's me who's caused the surge in prices I did 2 lorry loads of fw for April at 218 del and 2 loads FB for April at 208.I told the trader the markets would go skywards as soon as I sold some.

Local mills are well covered or say they are and even today prices around here haven't moved as much as talked about on here.

It's my first wheat sale of the year and only the second for feed barley so I still have plenty to play for🤞🤞🤞🤞

I could have had £225 delivered wheat for march back in November but thought I was being clever holding on but with the mills being well covered the time has come to start getting rid of some otherwise my store may still be half full at harvest.

Wildfires in Argentina on Al Jazeera News this am. Trying to backburn breaks by hand in sparse low scrub, on open land. I couldn't see why they hadn't got a few big tractors and sets of discs making firebreaks tbh..

Last year selling some at 211 I thought was good
£1 above the best in 2011/12
this year best could be above 240

if we had not had such low spec weight and some ergot could have had most over 230

the lowest in the last 20 years is 68
the £ was a lot stronger and uk produced a lot more wheat with big exports

round here we may never send any for export again
