It's just a lag. If £300 becomes the new benchmark, then the rest will catch up. There are plenty buying. They may not be liking it, but they must prefer it to selling the beasts.

I reluctantly paid 295 for barley yesterday to keep the pigs going a bit longer.

Wheat never went down after it doubled in '73 or so.

my Daytona left last Dec @ £308 thru grain coop. was quite happy at that. back then
This years all sown. might be more even next year just coz of the Nitrogen costs as much as anything

Really? I've sold into flixborough for this April and may at between £250 and £300. So that's for chicken food.

Haven't got a clue. They might have bought 5000t at £175 and my 58t at £301.

Ditto stick farmer might only need one dear load out of 50.

Same way there won't be many farmers who bought all their fert at £280/t....or £1000/t.
