Talk of India putting an export ban on rice would suggest they don’t have any wheat to export anyway or certainly not as much as people thought despite the ban.

A very good military historian (fellow of the Royal historical society) on YouTube posted this 12 says ago. I think this shows how virtually impossible merchant shipping is in the black sea at the moment. The idea that naval vessels could escort them to me seems ludicrous, think what would happen if a mine accidentally or otherwise struck a coalition warship. It would be a field day for Russia.

I bet behind the scenes politician’s all around the world are more worried about food inflation-security than any other commodity , it’s the one thing that would lead too civil unrest , we have seen panic buying during covid , I wouldn’t at all be surprised politicians are having phone calls daily about keeping bread in the table , just imagine what would happen if any government announced food shortages , I bet when or if the sh1te hits the fan it won’t matter where or whom it’s bought from.

Sold some this morning £315/t for Sept in East Yorkshire. We were offered £305/t yesterday but declined as thought it was low to the market compared to yesterday afternoon. We think it will go up but don't want to risk not selling at £300+ if political games continue to get worse as we want to move some at harvest for cash flow. I do think it will stick around £320 though as nothing fundamentally is changing.
