My average for the first 1t/ha is £340. So as said, could go any way! Im quite wary of forward sales, and also immediately pre-harvest has, historically, been a cacky time to sell. But then I bought fairly dear urea, and who knows if that will have been a good buy between now and March.

Can’t see too many boats heading to Russia or Ukraine.expect sea is heavily mined and id not want to sent ships there if I owned any.ship owners maybe boycotted by rest of world if they try to get to Russia too.

Hot weather bringing harvests forward. Ukraine got nowhere to put theirs etc = lots more supply compared to a normal June.
Ukraine has nowhere to put rheirs, and not much in the way of getting it out to the world either. Don't think ukraine grain is much of a factor at the moment, especially as russia is apparently minjng ports again.

Trouble is Erdogan encouraging Ukrainian wheat exports but Putin exporting stolen Ukranian wheat from Mariupol and mining Odessa and the West looks away to reduce inflation

The thing is I, as most, would be selling wheat over the last 6 months whether it was £200 or £300, paying £350 didnt create any more wheat, and Mr Miller should have known he would still be getting it without the panic buying, seems it has now dawned on him.
£240 for feed wheat will be the average for 2022 harvest is my prediction, bear in mind some is already bought at £170 as well as £300
But would Mr Miller still be getting it or another mill that's paying more, he can't sell what he hasn't got on his books, all supply and demand is the same, as fat price rises a slaughter house paying more doesn't suddenly make more cattle magically available but he will have stock.

But I have some left and all mills seem to have got what they wanted.

@Clive what is your take on this recent drop?

looks to me that the speculator herd are cashing in and assuming the situation remains the same there should be a post harvest rally?
Yep totally agree, as soon as it stops falling they will want to buy back in, some crazy money been made off the last run and they won't want to miss out on the next rise.

nothing fundamental has changed, drops are just trading ……….. best to not look to close !

i had a group of overseas farmers here last week, all farming BIG areas in eastern europe, one with huge hectares (like 100k plus !) in the Ukraine told me they would be 40% down this harvest and if they couldn’t export it would probably significantly reduce that for h23
