It's funny though how the Australian harvest is already
made at planting time. Seems to be a week of everything
around the world being penciled in with no issues and even
talk of Ukrainian wheat not needed to balance supply.
The Pope can rest easy now !
All Southern hemisphere crops will be grown with high cost NPK as opposed to last years so will the cost v output v risk mean crops are not actually pushed as hard putting a lid on record performanc.

Russia is on selling Ukraine’s grain that’s in the ports. A Turkish ship has been tracked and seen by satellite entering loading and unloading. It turned its tracker off in the Black Sea loaded and put it back on the way out

Just shows the sanctions although morally correct are not helping in many ways. More like a morally self inflicted pain on the west while benefiting others who sneak in and buy the goods

Sanctions are benefitting them?

Wheat, coal, oil fertiliser prices all up. Longer the war goes on the better for them as it gives them more time to benefit from inflated prices.🤷‍♂️

Yes they are I wasn’t wanting to say that as it’s unpopular. All that will happen in time is other countries (the ones with no morals) will buy these commodities up and end up selling them back to us. India has been taking a lot of oil that would normally come in this direction since May or before

I'm used to being unpopular!🤦‍♂️🤣

Then the produce from the ones with no morals will come on the market at a discount, as grown with cheap fertiliser, and cheap diesel.

Bloody Boris will hold out his arms to do a trade deal with them and import it. And still act as Mr high and mighty backing the Ukrainians.

Selling less stuff at a higher price is the holy grail of all primary producers, surely?

Years ago when Cameron started as PM he put sanctions on Russia at the time sheep skins were going to Russia from here. One of the lads on with this told me he sent them to a non banned country then into Russia after this the middle man took his 5% wether the skins went via this country I’m not sure I think it’s just the paper trail
Same thing will happen

Interesting to read on the news that shoppers are cutting back on food already, so I think we are seeing demand destruction. Also, people will be wasting less as it is more expensive.
And you believe the media? Individually people may cut back a little but they still have to eat. Its interesting they are "apparently" cutting back on good before getting rid of their nobiles or other luxuries. But look at the bigger picture...... in 1979 the world population was 4.3bn, now its 8.5bn, almost doubled in 40 years. Do you honestly believe people will stop eating enough to cause "demand destruction"? I think not. What the media is twisting in their story is most likely people are cutting back on prepared food, and simply removing the word prepared!
