For the UK market, an early harvest is playing into the hands of the trade, rather than purchase expensive old crop hope fully call upon the well bought ( to them) new crop that they have contracts for and hopefully things might have settled down when they really need to get buying or prices will drastically rise. The trade is on a knife edge hoping that harvest exceeds all expectations but are ignoring farmer concerns about less fertiliser use and the effects of a drier year on yield, which must point to lower yields, anyway soon find out now.

Why not compare with mixed farm that DDs? Comparisons are meaningless with two variables.
I'm currently not DD I'm mine till yields haven't increased, on average, since going min till and costs have obviously decreased. If my no till drill arrives I will go the next step, I do know it's without issues and am contemplating bringing the plough out of the long grass/nettles to tackle some resistant Ryegrass.
