Combine for 250 acre

Hello,
After some advice on combines as it’s all new to us. We grow about 250 acre between wheat barley and beans or rape and want a combine to do this job.
Would like to spend little as possible around 25k ish to 30k on something to do the job. Lesser electrics the better and would like to be able to repair it our selves etc.
Would like a claas dominator or something like a NH tx model.
What is a good combine to fit our needs and any opinions on what would be good.
Thanks
Mark
Hi we have a claas dominator 204 for sale, we cut about 450acres a year with it not problem. It would cut yours easily selling it as wer wanting to upgrade a few years if not we shall keep it as there is nothing wrong with it. Wanting 22k for it. Many thanks Rob

Hello, just looking through combines on the web and firby has a few in and one is a CR980 up for 35k on a 2004? It’s got about 3300 hours on so not over massive and would do us a longtime and get through the acres i the middle of the day with short days to get it at its driest. What is there to look for in these combines of this age and hours?

Oh yeah iv seen that. We don't like new holland ones threasing system back to claas. Claas takes 80% out at the front and 20% at the back and new holland is other way round. I'm not a dealer I'm I'm farmer and saw your post and just thought our combine would be ideal for you as wer looking to upgrade ourselves

208 is a heck of a tool for your acreage, 204 would be more than boss. If you can find a tidy example of either …. And local support…. You won’t go far wrong. I ran a 208 mega 2 , .
New Holland …. Strong combines , again, local support.
I’ve never operated an Axial flow but they can be run to very high hours I know, local support s key.
What I did learn is that you should never…ever….under any circumstances… buy MF….life is too short.
Good luck !

Buy a fresh combine, 15-18 ft cut will cut that acreage easily, 10 years old or newer bit of value in 250 acres of grain, unless you're doing contract work.

As far as Massey are concerned it depends on what machine you are talking about - 34/36/38/40 are not bad at all. Our 38 has done us 4 years (doing 400 acres) with little in the way of problems. Getting old now but cheap combining (y)

The end.

Not the end.

OP would also need to budget £4.5k+ for a bedding up machine :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: when he finds out the round bales won't roll out.
3 seasons in and the 2388 has performed flawlessly. Spent some money on pre season maintenance but it was 20 year old this year and was at the stage where work needed done to give it a good life going forwards, it’s like new mechanically now.
As for the bale unroller, we’ve found it has a multitude of uses as well as straw it does silage and fodder beet down feed passages and been used for rolling silage out in parched grasses this summer so cows had something to eat. Only regret is we didn’t buy one 20 years ago.

We have noticed a significant straw saving by using it as well For bedding cattle and it’s faster and a lot easier than using the Armstrong loader.

Just a question is the rotating radiator air cleaner on the back of on the side?
