Combine insurance

We purchased a new Combine for this season and have just been told by our insurance company we must have a Category 5 tracker fitted within 30 days ,
I have never heard of this before has anyone else had this ?

I’ve heard of parts being stolen but never the whole combine. Local colony had their combines moved one night but farm boss knew and wanted to prank the boys that were driving. They did the same to his pickup but he wasn’t happy walking the mike to the other end of the field to go home. Wife put gps trackers on our dogs and they work great. I’m next then the kids. No more straying from anyone 😭

This is an Insurance company with no understanding of farming. As Brokers we would never allow such a request from the Insurer to go to the client as it is frankly laughable. Go back and argue the toss with Insurers. I have never had a combine theft claim in too many decades of Insuring them! It will be difficult to insure a stand alone new combine on a separate policy so either look to sort out your existing Insurers or look to move whole combine/tractor/telehandler insurance policy.
