Come on Lidl

Wife saw it , I know that the nz flag has the Union Jack in but it was the way the label showed it that confused her to start , the Union Jack was clearly shown one side of the price-weight label while the remaining part of the Nz flag was the other side , if it were all together then there would be no problem as far as I can see.

I saw the same thing this morning In Lidl. The NZ flag bisected by the price label so there was a union flag on the left of the label, a couple of stars on the right. There was a NZ rosette on the packaging too. £4.95 / kg. for a whole leg.

Morrisons had all British. Well labelled and £5 / kg for a whole leg. ?

Was this it?

Can’t say I think it’s as bad as you suggest, if it is.

It is a little bit sneaky.

Erm, because the Silver Fern isn’t the NZ flag? Consider it revenge from the former colonies for us raping and pillaging them before, and stop thinking that we have exclusive rights to the red white and blue overlaid crosses.

Oh god don't mention the flag. The then PM tried to change it a few years ago. It was a little controversial. In the end it was a no.

This label? Seems quite fair to me.

Nope.
It is designed to deceive.
The busy house wife.
If she's under orders to and is looking for NZ lamb, she would immediately see the rosette and into the trolley it goes.
If she's looking for British lamb, her eye is immediately drawn to the union flag and into the trolley it goes.

I’d say that the average busy shopper (I do not assume gender) is first drawn to the price, then the words “New Zealand”. If they are drawn to the corner of a half flag and wrongly assume that it’s British (as opposed to one of the multitude of other world regions that use the same design), then they need educating.
