1 left here! Please tell me its not just me! - it's been a pretty average lambing.
No records broken for numbers of lambs and now not much grass growing..

Lambs are decent but aye it'll be very average numbers wise I think.

Grass and temp. situation if f**king depressing for last day in April

But we sold almost all our store cattle this morning in 1 go... so the cheque put a smile on our faces. Got the last of the feet on today, lots of rain is forecast for Monday 🤞

Thought my lambs were looking very poor out in the fields this past week with little grass under them

had them in today for scabivax & was pleasantly surprised how well they looked & handled close up
Mine are looking the same, singles are looking ok but twins are lacking behind, took a bail out but sheep being sheep there not interested, more grass in garden but just can't fit 500 un lambs it:rolleyes: and OH wouldnt be reet impressed 😗. Might cut mi bun supply off:facepalm:

2013 was a long cold spring, we were taking hay to sheep well into May

I bought 10t of Beet pulp and fed ewes late that year. But I don't recall it being as relentlessly cold as this year? Things would be improving by now, then.

Most years it's late June we go at silage - 2013 we did 20acres first week of June, so things must have turned around quickly. I only remember this because we changed the baler that year and had to chase up the dealer to get the new one delivered earlier than we initially had agreed

It will be well into July this year before we cut I fear (and shearing will be a good few weeks later, too)

Yes we've had them lamb at clipping time, in July. Usually get 1 or 2 yowes that were scanned geld come off the fell with a young unmarked lamb at clipping gather
Remember clipping hoggs at a place once. Tipped hogg out race and got to first hind leg and realised she was hanging a lamb! Got her lambed with a live lamb then finished clipping her. Fairly slows your tally down per hour😃
