reading in the yellow peril the above mentioned levy seems to be applied in some cases to ag buildings being put up since early 2016 , we have looked at our local district council and it seems they do bring it to use but it only mentions warehouses , superstores stores etc.

Does anyone know what the crack is or had this become an issue after planning permission or building barns has been done ?

Apparently some councils do and some don't, I didn't with my last two applications, one an ordinary Ag application, the other full planning.

I remember when it came in, maybe 20 years ago. Was aimed at developments of a number of houses to provide play areas etc in the local area which seemed reasonable. Now they seem to claim it is due on any house/ conversion that gets PP.
Ask the council where the money goes and they struggle to answer. Certainly not as was origionally intended Just another tax !!

It enables National Govt to duck out of having the blame for a punitive Development Land tax, whilst at the same time allowing County Councils to extort whatever they like out of planned developments.

They love sec.106 agreements to prop.their Authority balance sheets up.
It's legal "Bribery"on their behalf on you getting permissions !
It's like us asking them to repair the roads-pick up rubbish ,supply services before we pay the council tax ? arh - they just send demands or go to prison ???
