I have cleaner in van with me so when ever I go anywhere I wash hands when I get back to van.

If we get it in our house it will be from either my son through school or my wife nursery teacher. Already got several kids off waiting for tests!
Idiot parent bought kid in yesterday and they were wearing a face mask, there not allowed in play group so was asked to remove it at which point parent says I put it on them cause they have a COUGH🤦‍♂️🤬 they got sent straight home along with his brother futher up the school.
,mother close me has one child on isolation due to classmates either with confirmed or just suspected c 19 also has another child in same school a bit older who is not on lockdown and attending ,yet both share the same bedroom. it would be hard to make it up

I go through a chequebook every 2 months, there is plenty of need for them unless people don't want cheques in which case they wont be getting paid
How do you manage to run an efficient business writing that many cheques out, I could not be bothered wasting the time, press a button on the computer 2 minutes later everyone is paid. I don't write cheques and won't take them as payment, complete waste of everyones time.

They charge you a % for paying cash in, banks do not really like coin. I used to take a lot of cash, and I ended up keeping it in the house because they charge you for the cheques on business accounts, and pay suppliers is cash. My daughter runs a small business, even with the charge on cards it's just easier than having cash, and people can not say they haven't got enough money on them.
Someone once came to buy an old car off me, we had already agreed and price, then tried to haggle down, then they tried to say they hadn't got enough cash on him, so I took every bit of spare change off him to make up the price.
I sold a horse for a fair amount of money, I normally take cash, but I thought I would go all modern and do bank transfer, it took nearly two hours to clear in to my account with the buyer getting cross because it had left their account, and the animal wasn't leaving until it had cleared.
So cash its uses, and its useful for haggling, if someone shows you the money, you know they have it to do the deal.
If I pay in cash I do not expect money off but I do expect them to realise I am a good customer and there is no messing in payment, the cheques in the post etc.

I would have a cheque wrote before computer turns on, you have your opinion, I have mine. My business seems to run ok, to be fair to it. I'm often very glad to get a cheque, if it's a hassle to you to lodge it, why bother? Sure just tear it up. If you were ever in a position that you needed money, by golly you wouldnt mind running to the bank with a cheque

Fair enough we all have different ways of running a business, I am always in a position of needing money, just never receive cheques and don't want to, they are too much hassle and no one here uses them anyway, money paid in directly is there to use immediately, no need to wait for a cheque to clear.
I have sold and bought items via the phone app, buyer transfers money, seller opens app sees money has gone in, all sorted.

Tbh now they have added a check on persons name to bank account it's much better could do with a code read that would make unfolable as for cash in shops not the end of the world more likely to be the dodgy that went it to stay. One thing though when you have no cash left it's gone card you can easily spend to much

Nothing wrong with using cheques if people still take them and you can be bothered with it but what will you do when people stop taking them?
Perhaps it would be a good idea to at least explore the other options, so you can use them when people say no.
Do you pay all your monthly bills with a cheque?

The School are not being responsible there, other child should be sent home as well.

If I were to go into your local town, throw a brick through the jewellers window and run off with a bunch of gold would that be OK? After all the insurance company will cover the loss and only result in a small increase in premiums, I have also found work for the local glaziers.
The former is frowned on, the latter is socially acceptable and even applauded by some, both are illegal.

We bank online and often find cheques from people still sat in the fruit bowl months after we'd received them, similarly cheques sent as birthday presents etc uncashed for several months.
I bank online but any cheque get popped in an envelope along with paying in slip, sent free post straight to the bank.

Wayleaves was the last cheque I received

Every major builders merchant near me are trade accounts or card payments only , as soon as the reopened ,they stoped taking cash ,even the timber and fencing company are card only ,,small shops ,takeaways and market traders are still taking it but then how much of it gets declared is another matter.

Ho much cash gets declared by buisnesses I haven’t a clue but the taxman ain’t stupid.
If the kebab shop buys 1000 pizza boxes there a fair chance they’ll sell 1000 pizzas.
The chippy might be able to buy their spuds for cash but there’s a fair chance the papers they’re wrapped in will have to be bought from a legitimate supplier.

I have not used a cheque for at least 10 years, there is no need for them and most businesses no longer accept cheques, as from July next year banks will no longer honour them as they are being phased out.
In the UK there have been several attempts to phase out cheques - none have succeeded & there is still a legal obligation for banking institutions to comply with the written instructions of their customers. With the advent of image clearance the banks have less scope to argue for removal of written instruments.

Always amazed me travelling around Germany over the years, the number of small to medium sized hotels, who would decline to take card payment! Always looking for cash. Often saying they didn’t have a card machine.
After a while I wised up. Simply said sorry, I don’t have cash. I can pay by card or call the office to do a bank transfer! All of a sudden, receptionist would scuttle in the back office and emerge with card machine. 😂😂 Ja! Cash ist Konig!!
