Compost teas

This was an interesting but very frustrating video. He had built a broad acre version of the Johnson Su compost bioreactor but they glossed over its design. Apart from the daily watering system I couldn’t see how it was naturally aerated not how it was simplified compared to the original system. Did I miss something?
What I understood was that he wasn't making a tea which is aerated , he was adding the composite to the water as an inoculate, just rinsing the biology and spreading that then,

Sorry, I didn’t explain my point clearly. I could see what he was doing with the water but it was the making of the compost itself, in his modified Johnson-Su bioreactor, which was glossed over. That was the interesting part as he and Charlie Arnott both agreed he’d developed them to work on a “Broad acre” scale rather than the small scale originals designed by David Johnson and his wife.

Would love to see a video of you making it and share it!
I'm not too flash with uploading videos.
Biochar is the easy one to cover as there are quite a lot of very similar techniques on youtube.... I did shortcut a lot of work by simply putting a "birdsnest" on top of my burn pile and letting it burn down from the top (rather than lighting the fire underneath as we usually would). Not as efficient as the TLUD in the drum but a lot quicker!

Then the ash and char was mostly put straight onto the heap, after filling a few 20 litre buckets of good clean char for the stock.

The seaweed brew I made this year is 100% better than earlier attempts, because I put bubblers in the tanks. Kept it's sweetness and I think it worked faster as well - I haven't been spraying it but dosing troughs with it instead.

I think but must look at video again is his su digester is double height or more, but the design structure is basically the same. Charlie Arnett is a good guy to reply to questions I'll put it to him tomorrow and see how he replies
