What should I expect to pay over summer for a 16% reasonable quality dairy cake, for grazing cows average yield, but high constituents.
10 tn deliveries, blown .Use approx 30 Tn / month. Not in a buying group. DD payment.

Quoted £205.50 for May
16% Dairy Cake
Sugar Beet
Wheat Distillers
Wheatfeed
Barley
+++ No yeast or protected this and that.

No idea if thats a good or bad price.

My very ordinary general purpose 12ME cake has gone up from £191 to £211.Lamb finisher 12.7ME is £238. Is this dear? £4/ton reduction for full 18ton loads tipped.

What’s happening with dairy feed prices?
Just had a bill for latest load of dairy nuts at £290 ton, never seen such a huge increase before, is this correct or have they made a cock up on my bill?
I’m hoping it’s the latter.

Depends what the make up is - proteins have been coming back but energy (cereals) have been on the increase.

We don't let anything come on to the farm unpriced any more after being shafted by a compound firm a few years ago.

Your not one of the farms that has to pay for it upfront then, before its delivered.

No, full load payed by direct debit, 14 days after delivery, supposedly that’s the best price you can get.

I understand that prices can and do move but an increase of 50 quid a ton surely warrants someone giving a bit of notification. I’ve had plenty on today and haven’t been in the mood to query it but I hope it’s an error in their billing or they won’t be getting another order,,,,,,,,,,it’s probably time to start shopping around for prices again anyway.
