There are more losses in sheep from Copper deficiency than from copper toxicity.

I’d heard the exact opposite, possibly from Ben Strugnell (vet and livestock pathology expert) but can’t remember exactly. Funnily enough, we had a sheep condemned at work for jaundice secondary to copper poisoning this week.

Yes agreed having said that I don’t want to be the man that convinces someone to use dairy cake for sheep and kills them

It’s bad when it happens they store it up in the liver then all of a sudden with a bit of stress they go down so I’ve been told

Yes, I had a Texel x hogg die with it last spring. I had bolused them with copper (along with cobalt etc) and they were getting a bit of feeding. Classic copper poisoning but it was the only one.
I was told it builds up in the liver then releases all at once poisoning the sheep often when stressed

What people paying for dairy cake now? Mine is getting silly now. For Farmers best maxima milk and maxima balance cakes are both £296 now [emoji30]

Just been offered a spare load of imported sugar beet, £187. Load of sups flow in the shed three weeks ago was £215 :(
Be aware that some imported sugar beet nuts are a lot harder and denser than Tridents, and so can effect intakes. I know a feed company I worked for wouldn’t mix sugar beet with ewe nuts out of the compound mill as that used imported, they would however mix it out of the blend plant though as that was British and so more palatable.
