Is longtown or whole feed side?
Well been told, it's come from a reasonable source but may not be hard n fast,,,
It's the whole of NWF feeds that has been sold to Wynnstay farmers,
apparently an announcement will be made next week,
But Rumour has it the Wardle mill and HQ is set to close, with all other NWF Mills staying open as part of the national expansion programme,

Time will tell and have to sit back and see it unravel over the coming weeks

out of curiosity, what are you basing that on?
if you took brewers out what would you replace it with that as cost effective?
£60 for brewers grains equates to £280 lead in for wheat on the current DM calculator
Not sure how that can work it out. If that’s right there is a saving not a lot but some as long as the handling doesn’t get the better of you

I see. interested to hear your thoughts

Why are comparing a protein source to a starch source. Wouldn't it make more sense to compare brewers grains to Rape meal or soya on a Protein basis?

Ask KW don’t know. It’s making a comparison on feed cost on a dm basis You have to compare it to something

What are people paying for beef finisher type nuts and blends in bulk lately?
Last load I had was £360 that was in April the prices quoted going forward out of contract were nearer to be starting with a 4. I’m just about out so will find out in the next day or two might not even ask. Only have 40 odd cattle inside at the moment and some of them will be going soon

This place was always generally ok
Interestingly I had a chat with the lady in the office about it and enquired about beet pulp prices, years ago we made grainbeet 4:1 and it fattened cattle well which mystified me with having zero starch. She quoted around £330 so it works out around £300/tonne mixed @ 86/dm, it would be the most inline with other rations it’s been for years, it soaked up nearly all the juice

Great stuff used to fatten lambs on it.
