Concerned about Red Tractor collapse.

Disagree. There’s still a premium, purely because half the buyers will sit on their hands when non-FA animals come into the ring. Not enough to tempt me, but definitely higher prices for FA, when all else is equal.
The question then is ‘what’s the true price?’

Has FA created a premium or has it reduced the price of non-FA animals.

I suspect it’s more the second and without any FA the price of all lambs would be nearer that of currently FA animals.

I failed my gestapo visit because I didn’t have a “no smoking or naked flames” sign on the spray shed door, along with the chemical sign. I think I might take it off every year to make an easy non conformance, just stick it back on and email a picture to keep them happy.
Not red tractor anymore but we always used to do that sort of stuff. Always do a paper fail as well....... not being able to find a receipt for recycling was an easy one.

We had an assessment a few days ago and didn't 'pass' because we had a few pieces of paperwork missing that nobody ever reads or looks at except when they are shown to the assessor and are total fabrication anyway.
One of these was an integrated pest management plan (all21 pages of it). I wonder has anyone ever been asked by an end user of our crops if we have an IPM plan or a no smoking sign outside of our chemical store etc etc. I think not . Quality and price is what our end users are looking for not endless folders of meaningless irrelevant paperwork that is just paying lip service to the scheme and resembles little of what actually goes on the farm. Amazing that I cannot market my grain if I cannot show a record of when I cleaned my combine harvester or washed out a trailer yet if I put any old date down that comes to my head it is OK. Total farc
Not as far as I'm aware for FAWL.
I got pulled up on H&S policy this week despite not employing anyone .
Also no smoking sign on my spray cabinet ( there’s one on the wall outside )
bait boxes not secured ( need bricks on top )
fertiliser needs sheeting in case anyone off the public footpath sees it ( been in same place for 20 years and never been a problem.
PS, Why should a public footpath be allowed through a working farmyard, when common sense would allow it to be diverted free of charge

And how can you comply with health and safety when the public are wandering through your workplace?

In an ideal world if every farmer across the land failed his or her crop assurance inspection and were removed from the scheme then there would be no scheme. It would be messy to start with but would be worth it in the end when the scheme had collapsed and we stopped paying in to it. Would the French farmers put up with being taxed to sell their own produce?, we must be mad.

We have inspection on Wednesday, usual inspector has retired. Don't think he wanted to go on another training course for more bull they are coming out with.
We have a lady coming out this time who sounds ok on the phone and I did ask her if she was fair? Got the right answer I thought ' I'm here to help aswell as inspect' was the reply.
I've given up worrying about it nowadays just detest the time spent in the office making bulls**t rather than trying to make money!

Find a big difference between inspectors. Never had an unfair one, just some who are sticklers for the rules, and some who are, 'aherm, a bit more understanding.

And what does it matter if the inspector lets us fill in the grain bucket washing date if we've forgotten to write it down.

Where does it say what the time limit is for writing things like this down, you might keep dates in your head and then put them on paper at some time in the future, or should I finish a job, then immediately sprint to the office and fill in the date on my computer, is 30 seconds too long or 30 days or 30 hours?

I keep them all under my hat for a year and can recall every detail the night before when pen goes to paper. And we have our own special microclimate here too.

The thing is the 99% of us wash the grain bucket, loosen compacted area's of fields and have good animal husbandry but we don't write it down everytime we bloody do it because we haven't got time to and I for one have far better things to do! So it often gets done just before the inspection.
When the lady inspector see's my new retractable pressure washer hose reel on the wall(New toy Day thread) well............... I hope she can contain herself!

So the RT records are not worth the paper they weren't even written on.
I sprint to the house the moment I finished a job and write it down as I’m terrible scared of getting into bother if I don’t.

i keep a special pen for the job so all the records are in the same ink so it looks neat👍

Suppose I should really keep a filing cabinet in my pocket. Then I can fill the paperwork in on a minute by minute live basis of how the grain bucket cleaning is coming along!
