concrete polishing

Had a couple of lads in last year to lay a concrete floor for me 75x40, grain store/ machinery shed, they said big blue float finish would be plenty good enough and didn't need power floating.... they were wrong!....its ok as machinery shed, but brushing up grain is hard work, rough finish to it, although its level, thought about having it polished, anyone got any experience of having it done?

No chance of fixing now , need a stiffer brush I think

I expect having it polished as they do in houses will cost more than laying another 4 inches and getting it power floated properly.

Concrete layers often say this as no waiting about for an extra 4/5 hours for them to power float it

Laying under floor heating at the moment and people keep talking about covering with a self levelling compound would that possibly tick a box and better than another 4 inches polished?

What can you paint on concrete to harden, water proof and seal it. On a polished bit of concrete outside that is starting to look weathered? Money no abject what is the best stuff you can buy?

You could latex it all. Self levelling compound is really smooth. Only have to lay 5-10mm think layer so won't crack. Cost is the only sticking point. Speak to a concrete company. Ask what they would suggest do.

been wondering this also, have a couple of ex silage barns where the top of the concrete has been eaten away, would an epoxy be tough enough to withstand grain buckets/pushers ?
