Concreteing over concrete

I have two separate floors both concrete but neither fit for purpose one is In what will be a calf shed, the falls are wrong.

The other is an outdoor silage pit with very old pitted but sound concrete.

Raising the height of the floors by 6inch is no problem. Can I just lay concrete on top of the existing concrete?

I would consider asphalt, got a bit more give in it. Just done a bit of our silage pit and very pleased. Would need some stone underneath if you want to go 6" though.

I have overconcreted two silage pits for a customer due to the old concrete being very pitted and the joints very exposed. 3 inches of c45, no joints, just magic screeded. Worked very well but was done in January so it had a long cool set.

Yes its possible. But you want to drill in reinforcing bar and resin bond to existing. Lots of of these then mesh to it. Wet the existing concrete before pouring new. Will work but try and get a decent thick slab of new not just an inch or 2

Those two jobs the old concrete was wet, and had been pressure washed spotless. No steel was used, as the existing floors were sound (no cracks or settlement) and sufficient aggregate was sticking up to grab a country. They were done 2 and 3 years ago, no problems.

I've seen @Sharpy's concreting and it's spot on (y)
