Conor side spreader muck spreader

Hi folks I have an aged marshall 60 muck spreader that could be due for replacement...possibly could get another or iv seen a tidy conor 750 ....anybody had 1 ...know what they last like?... also a hi spec 800 is another option...don't want too get into the rear discharge being better argument.... most secondhand 1s are way too big for my 85hp tractor ... just curios what a conor would be like...cheers

Conor not regarded as the strongest built I don't think

Used to have Conor, didn't pay much but needed extensive welding and new chains before I could use it obviously not too much muck at either end but could pile on big load in middle

We have had a few different brands as we hire them out, we currently have marshall and fleming, the fleming is ok and would be alot cheaper but it isnt a patch on the marshall for build quality, we get them to galvanise them for us and we were the first to ever own a galvanised marshall as we had alot of talkin to do to get them to do it but i think its an option now ever since but id highly reccommend gettin it done as ul have a spreader thatl last u the rest of ur days if ur only spreadin ur own dung

Marshall are the strongest by a mile,and will only be a few hundred quid more than any of the others.

I have been tempted by the West dual spreader....its just the straw muck I have in my calving boxes that I'd be worried about bridging....you hear about that quite often... do the walking walls do a good job?

Hi yeah be the best ya could possibly get...only secondhand 1 I can see is at rickerbys....and still priced at around £12000... quite a step up from a rotor spreader price wise

Hi hadn't priced new ...there's a tidy conor 750 secondhand for 3200 before negotiations.....a marshsll ms 60 is around 5200 plus vat....and there's a couple of tidy hi spec 800s on marketplace around 3750 ish

We bought a 10 yard connor for the sloppy stuff and for under the ramps to help out the rear discharge. When we compared the weights it was the heaviest by far the heaviest so I bought it, in 5 years a set of wheel bearings and front bearing thats it, and the paint is still on it that's an improvement compared to the previous Marshall!

I have a 10.5 Conor bought new last year. Thing I hate is the drawbar stand is placed to far back so the lift arms catch it when turning and damage it. This also means the eye is to low to the ground when attempting to pick it up. The hydraulic lid opens vertically but if it opened a few inches more it would make filling with a digger easier. When filling, to prevent the muck falling out the front of the barrel you have to hover the bucket just overhead the lid and let it literally slide down the lid into the barrel. Lastly I hate the fact that the ram to open/close the lid is single acting so the lid only closes via gravity so lots of muck on the tractor on a windy day. I also wish there was a bigger removable plate in the barrel to clean it out as the cleaning is a pain in the face. Apart from that it does the job.

True, They annoy me but it will be replaced in 2 years for one that doesn’t have those issues.
