Too much red, so perhaps it's a burnett?
No. Burnet moths are the same family as cinnabar
Think the pic is a Ruby Tiger due to black spots down the thorax

Really is a learning day today . The Wildlife Trust descends upon here occasionally, so I'll ask for formal ID on fluttery creatures that are red with black next time.
Nearest thing i could find to it is a ruby tiger moth, not certain i'm correct thoughIs it a cinnabar moth, with its cocoon, on its host WMI hurdle?
Moths are fascinating. But in the Times recently stated that 2/3 of uk public were “afraid” of them
Always get your nest checked over by a qualified electrician.

Anyhoo. I've been thinking.
Shouldn't there be some sort of financial incentive to preserve old farm buildings ? Think of the number of creatures that use them, barn owls, lizards, swallows, bats..... Yet these buildings are being converted at an alarming rate. We noticed a dramatic increase in swallows here when a neighbouring farm courtyard was converted to holiday lets. If money is dished out for other wildlife habitats, why not farm buildings ?
I'm sure I remember a grant for building specific buildings for Owls, bats etc to live in.They would be better for wildlife if they weren’t restored though surely?
Lots round here that were virtually demolished in process of conversion to
residential would have been better left, but at a cost of course, so a grant ‘not to repair or convert’?
Looks like something ever self-respecting MP should have.....A barn owl tower like this. Would love to know if anyone has built one?
Tir Gofal higher level has/had a grant for restoring traditional buildings IIRC
That doesn't look like it is suffering from drought? It looks tasty for stock and wildlife. This is our wildflower meadow full of rattle and sainfoin(?)cowslips just finishing and oxeyes just coming been down for 8 yrs and grazed heavily through winter - working really well.View attachment 806038
