Combines etc can be shipped on open / flatrack containers more costly and bit less protected from the elements i guess.

The problem is cost roll on roll off is charged on a price per cubic metre basis same with flat racks and it gets expensive we've done big tractors, forklifts and potato harvesters roll on roll off and it hurts. My plan from now on is to get my kids to do a nut and bolt strip of anything we send if possible. Often buying something cheap ends up being expensive because shipping can easily double the price. But it's amazing what can be containerised we've had self propelled prayers in containers but that's been done by the manufacturer because they know what they're doing.

Yes if strip / rebuild can be done ..that must be the best way .

.....especially very vulnerable things like sprayers

totally protected inside a container safe from damage when swung on and off at the Port .

The issue will be the width. Even with the wheels off it is still wider than a standard container. That is where out of gauge containers come into their own. It will cost more to ship though.

I would think either the axles or final drives would have to be removed. It won’t be much wider than the combine in the video.

HI i am based in Dumfries and Galloway , the problem with the swather is its a wide wheel base , alot wider than a combine and even length wise with the cab off and rear axel removed and cant see it getting in a container, unless i am missing something!!
