Converting wooden stables to accommodation?

We have 4 wooden stables which we are considering converting to accommodation ,for either students at RAU Cirencester (as not far away), Airbnb or a long term let. I would very much like to know if any TFF members have successfully converted wooden stables for Airbnb/ holiday lets or long term let,the stables are close to our cottage , so not too much of a job to get water and sewerage connected . Any positive or negative suggestions on your experience of converting stables will be much appreciated ,BEFORE, we get involved with architects fees and planning application process/fees . Be suprised if any of the Uni crowd would know the difference between their dorms or a stable and I bet loads of them have slept in a few stables after a heavy night on the pop

We didn’t take the idea forward as after having a chat with a structural surveyor , unforeseen problems and cost put us off the idea.

Structural integrity is very important in these cases. We are just about to receive approval for stables to residential but the council wanted a full SE report and details of each and every element that was to be lost/retained/replaced.
