An interesting read: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-58981505

Especially with comments like "It suggests "building support for a bold policy", such as a tax on producers of sheep and cattle meat."

The article has been removed.
there already is a tax on the producers of sheep and cattle meat - income tax! Does this mean income tax will be a higher rate for businesses "we" don't like?

Perhaps farmers should all go on strike for the week as well, that'll save loads of carbon and show our commitment to their plans. I'm sure they can import the food from NZ overnight.
How about a sh!t free November, if every farmer refused to take sewage for the whole month it would very soon make headline news & deflect from all the other false farming claims, course this would involve the arable boys thinking of what's good for all of us together, we can only live in hope!

Police have already stated that they will not allow protests close to the conference or anywhere where VIPs are being housed

Mind you, they might be so busy counting their overtime money, might be able to sneak the odd tractor and slurry tanker through

Not sure all these eco nuts & world leaders attending COP 26 would be very impressed if they did, the NFU should announce this in plenty of time saying that farmers need to be appreciated for the work that they do & not have their markets undermined by these trade deals & false environmental claims!

A prediction for COP 26: that the UN delegation from each country will give a practical demonstration of 'emissions'....

... to every hooker in the central belt of Scotland. And that they'll get a receipt to claim for 'professional services' on expenses.

Just sent the below, will share any response.

Good afternoon Joseph, Mike.

Cows cause climate change. I’m still unsure quite how you pulled it off. Clever tactics and hard work on your part ? UK ag being its usual complacent self ? Both probably. Anyway, the game is up. You both know as well as I do that it’s nonsense. We could shoot all of the cows tomorrow and GHG emissions wouldn’t fall.

I would suggest that now, in the run up to COP26, is the perfect time to come clean and acknowledge that you got it wrong. Look at it one of two ways. You could quietly release it so that it gets lost in all the other eco news. Or you could make a name for yourselves by going large on it.

Do this now, then we can all move on and work together to address the real environmental damage. It is the food chain that needs to change, we all know that. A change in focus may present difficulties in terms of where you and your faculty get your funding from, but i’m sure that your commitment to sound science will rise above that.

Look forward to hearing from you on this.
You are Joe Lycett and I claim my prize.

Now that conjures up an interesting image!

Fantastic....

I learn today that despite lecturing us on our environmental responsibilities and praising veganism, Prince Charles has happy been sucking up donations to the tune of many hundreds of thousands of great British pounds for his charitable foundations from Aramco, the Saudi oil giant - who have been responsible for approximately 5% of all global CO2 emissions since 1965

Long live the Queen

Re the original question @Bald Rick,Carrie will tell Bojo to cut uk methane production by 30% by 2030.

3pc of UK population consider themselves to be vegan (with the highest percentage by far in London and generally millennials) so considering their lentil consumption, I suggest a cull of vegans would achieve that.
Far more productive than culling harmless grass eaters.
But what do I know. I am but a humble dairy farmer with holes in my socks

How many changes can you get before mrs BR bins them ? I find on the 3rd change they usually end up on the fire

I gather there is a multi country training session next four days with night bombing at Gedney Range. This morning I am in the kitchen (South Lincs) and so far had three five minute sessions directly overhead of practice dogfighting - or what ever with planes on full afterburners (orange glow) doing tight climbing turns. I looked at the AGA and thought to myself which is the more damaging to Greta and the Polar Bears. Oh and which will be targeted by Billy Bunter.
