200 electric cars destined for use by Glasgow council sit unused , and quietly rotting in a lock up car park, yet Wee Nippy has 20 Tesla cars bought to ship the great and the good to and fro from their hotel at Gleneagles . With only 1 available charging point, they are hiring diesel generators from WH Malcolm to provide enough power for the temporary charging units they will need !🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

More misinformation - they are Jaguar iPaces https://www.jaguarlandrover.com/new...eet-all-electric-vehicles-world-leaders-cop26
Gleneagles Hotel has 3 Tesla destination chargers, and there is a 50kW rapid CCS in Auchterarder.

Looks like President Xi ain’t coming ... and for good measure has ordered Chinese coal mines to up their production by a further 100 million tonnes to try to negate their power shortages.

Meanwhile the U.K. sits on up to an estimated 39 trillion cubic metres of shale gas that could sort us out in the short to medium term until the proposed nukes come on stream.

I suspect we will be told to frack off and cut our meat & dairy consumption.

Never mind, I’m off to count walruses in the Artic

What a time to be alive

Tesla/ jags/ bmw ‘s .It’s immaterial. It’s blatant greeny brown nosing to the big wigs. Why not use the cars not used by Glasgow council. Oh that’s because they aren’t flash enough , and wee nippy wants to be seen playing the big stateswoman.

Story about the other day, They have a fleet of leccy Jaguers to taxi the great & good from Gleneagles to Glasgow.
The power supply at Gleneagles has not enough spare capacity to charge the Jags

So a fleet of diesel gennys has been hired in.

Just sums up what a load of rubbish the job is,
& don`t get me going on airlines buying farms to plant trees on so they can claim to be carbon neutral. Seems almost fraudulent to me.
As for what Boris will say, just the usual jumble of soundbites that have little relevance to the real world
Almost fraudulent???
Its totally fraudulent

We know exactly what needs to be done:
  • Scrap GDP as a progress measure
  • Mass insulate all properties
  • Raise fossil fuel taxes each year, significantly
  • Make public transport free (or nearly free)
  • Cut aviation by 90%+
  • Fundamentally change planning rules to require all non- rural homes to be within walking distance of employment and food retail
  • Begin closing all out-of-town retail and business parks
  • Ban ALL single use plastics and ALL petrochemical based clothing
  • Outlaw "fast fashion"
  • Remove AD subsidy except on >95% waste fueled units
  • Revoke fossil fuel exploration licences
  • Scrap RHI but provide 75% grant for renewable heating installations
Hardly an electable manifesto though, is it?

They could call it something snazzy like “Levelling Up”. It would equalise the population a lot more for sure.

I think, general scientific opinion has not caught up with the new discoveries about the synergy between grazing plants/mega fauna/soil bacteria/soil fungi and it's (soils) ability to sequestrate Carbon when managed appropriately, this could in part have something to do with the fact that money is being spent to lobby and provide research to "prove" that lab produced meat is a good idea, tree planting to offset Carbon emissions works, farming hydroponically using lots of fertlisers/sprays/GM technology will save the world and ultra processed food is nutritious. We only have to look at the cul-de-sac we have been in for the last 50 years after Ancel Keys was funded by the sugar industry and the number of deaths from obesity that have resulted from that partnership!
Just as an aside, but to do with scientific "knowledge" and how it gets corrupted and twisted, and then takes decades to be corrected when the answer was there all along but stifled: the American Heart Association that was in league with Ancel Keys et al has apparently (after years of preaching the wrong message in spite of all the eveidence) dropped the wording to "eat low fat" from their official advice. They haven't told anyone about it though. It took Nina Teicholz to spot it to make people aware.

This is what we're up against with the climate change numpties. Spread the bullsh1t far and wide and it takes a Herculean effort over decades to start to correct it. Mankind is fekked.
