Corded chainsaw

Cutting ability is all down to chain speed and the power to spin the chain. Most of the corded chainsaws are probably comparable to the hobby/ householder spec petrol saws..

Do you mean cordless (battery)? Because of the torque of electric motors some can beat a small petrol model for speed of cutting but obviously they're better for quick jobs or you'll need a lot of batteries.
This guy does good reviews, in his test a DeWalt battery chainsaw outperformed a Stihl MS 170.

I think he means one with a cable that plugs into the mains

I used a Bosch one that a friend had. He said “no it’s ok I’ve got a chainsaw “ Absolutely pathetic. I killed it in the end although I hope it was just the thermal overload. Others might be better but all built to a price

My uncles got one that he uses for chopping up lengths on a saw horse and it’s perfect for that job no faffing on in fuel pull starting or battery’s and it’s plenty of power but probably a top end model

wouldn’t want one if doing any moving about tho a chainsaw and a cable by your feet is a recipe for disaster

I've cut a LOT of firewood over the past few years with a Screwfix Titan £50 special. I wasn't expecting much but I was really surprised how capable it is for use on a sawhorse. Surprisingly, it's as good as a pro Dolmar saw I have for work on mainly hedgelaying stuff say 3-6" dia bundled on the horse

I have a cheap power devil saw which I use for doing stuff inside, when you think how cheap to buy and run they are in comparison to a petrol saw they really are good for what they are,
Used mine to cut loads of sleepers to length that we were using for a shed wall and found no problem with lack of power
