Cordless 18/54volt DeWalt Compressor

Spotted that DeWalt now have a cordless mini-compressor in their range, that runs on their 18v/54v Flexvolt lithium batteries. Probably been around a little while.

Obviously it won’t be big enough to blow down a combine or clear a slurry pipe ;):D but might be handy for some other small jobs where there’s no 240v handy or a petrol compressor is too cumbersome.

Around £269 inc for the bare unit or £479 inc. supplied with 2 x 6Ah batteries and a fast charger.

Milwaukee have a little one too but to be fair its not as good as that one.

If they could make it bigger be handy to have in the van.

I’ve got one of these
https://www.toolstation.com/dewalt-...B340bBPoSSZ7HTtrvUl5RpX3KJw9Q_IsaAr2wEALw_wcB
Runs from a 12v lead or stick a battery on it (y) it has a fitting to blow tyres up but also has a high volume low pressure blower as well (the type you blow air beds up with) which is great for pressuring fuel tanks to aid bleeding
So had a bit of a closer look at the tyre inflators from Milwaukee, the M12-BI and the DeWalt DCC018N...

Price
Both DeWalt and Milwaukee are practically line ball on price. Each is about £100+VAT according to my pals at FFX.

Performance
Although the Milwaukee is only 12-volt it would appear to outperform the 18-volt DeWalt by at staggering 30 to 1 on inflation performance. Milwaukee do claim they are the fastest cordless tyre inflator in the business:

Milwaukee: 17.8 L/min at 2.41 BAR
DeWalt: 0.6L/min @ 2 bar

from what I can see on the spec sheets, here and here

Weight
The Milwaukee is also much smaller and lighter, 1.42kg vs 2.5kg for the DeWalt.

Winner out of these two then has to be the Milwaukee!

However the DeWalt DCC1054N in my OP kills them both for performance. Its just a lot bigger and more expensive!

Yes that's the one I was refuring to, I didn't even bother checking the specs I know it wouldn't match the one in your original post cause the dewalt has a proper mini tank for one thing, its just a different thing altogether.

I'm sure if Milwaukee was to make one with there 18volt 12amp battery it would compete though.

Yeah as you say the 2 tyre inflators are definitely apples and oranges with the DeWalt unit in the OP.
