Cordless Chainsaw

I've been giving my £49 battery chainsaw from Lidl some abuse this afternoon, cutting up pallets for firewood.
2 charged 4AH batteries and I've got 3 bulk bags of hot and fast burning stuff for when it turns cold.
It's an amazing little thing, and I reckon it's got more grunt than the smaller of my Stihl petrol saws.
We have an Einhell which is very similiar.

Missus loves it to bits, but does have a habit of cutting stuff down I would rather be left alone...

Cheap to re-blade and great on awkward areas where the Stihl would be difficult

Broke mine after no time. The chain adjuster snapped😢😢

Bought a Lidl corded last week. Delighted with it. Cut through pile of blackthorn, I had cleared off last year with a digger. Five one ton bags of firewood in an afternoon. So much more pleasant to use than a conventional chainsaw given the leccy was at hand.

The size of battery you would need to cut these up for as long as a tank of petrol would last would have to pretty dam big and heavy.
I’ll carry on using this for them

Bought from JM Raine . Not sure how long ago now but some Durham folks could say how long it is since Carrs took Raines over

Spare batteries in your rucksack in place of petrol tank?
agree maybe not quite up to the power level of petrol one's but I get the feeling it won't be long.

How big is the battery in Milwaukee? I bought an Echo for myself since it seemed to dominate on all fronts (except for the size) when comparing battery saws. 58V 4Ah battery and haven't had any fear of it not cutting everything that i put in front of it. Compares to ~40cc petrol saws. Still be a long time before i bring the battery saw for a real day of forestry work though.

Two 4Ah ones already had them . I’ll see how I get on with them . There’s space for a much bigger one .
