Cordless impact gun

Yes, part of the Dewalt flexvolt range. Also got a 54v circular saw. They are bringing out the 54v impact later this year. You can use the battery on any other Dewalt 18v tools which is handy. It automatically cuts the power down to a third.

Since we purchased the Dewalt 899 impact wrench a month ago, all I can say that I am very impressed with power! I swapped the super singles for flotation tyres on our 14t grain trailer, the nuts had never been undone, and the Dewalt had no problem.
Also the 54v grinder is very good.

Would there be any thoughts on this being any good.? I know it's not a mulakeee or another brand that others rate... but I've got the batteries and charger and other tools at home. Just wondering if anybody else got one or if anybody rates them any good.?

Handy little tool for 8mm and 10mm bolts buts that will be about its limit as lack of torque. would actually be more usefull if it was 3/8 drive not 1/2"
Sure they do a bigger version if you wanted to make use of the kit you already have and don't want top end power/torque?

@Shovelhands Do you find the 1002 to big for everyday use ?
@smcapstick how are you getting on with yours?

Yes in a way, but I've got the smaller one also, which means there's always the right one to hand. The big gun is 3/4 drive, and is absolutely mega! Was buzzing off the wheel nuts on our 3.5t truck yesterday, didn't even think about it, and if your not careful, you can do them up too tight without even trying. Nothing's beaten it yet! Yes it's a fair lump, but it needs to be.

If I could only have one, it'd be the big gun but probably in 1/2, just to be more useful, but why have one when you can have two....:D(y)

This is the BIG one, and as far as I know is available in 1/2 & 3/4 and both are physically the same size.
The smaller gun I have is much more compact and lighter, is 1/2 drive, but not a brushless model unfortunately, the brushless ones are even more compact and would be my choice if I were to need and extra gun, I'm finding the brushless models, across the range, well worth going for.

Correct me if my summary is wrong , the big one is an awesome tool, but might be a bit too big for 17& 19 mm nuts. If I want one for everyday use and not to heavy go for the smaller one.

Yes, if we're talking M12 use, Max, then I think, if it were me, I'd go for the smaller one. The big one will just bust them off if your not careful with it!

Still can't beat that 1001 for M16, M20 etc (y)

If the bigger one had different torque settings to the ones you described then I would probably go for the bigger one. But as you say it might just strip the threads on most things I would use it for. Thanks for your help.

I got the 1/2 inch makita, the 1002 or 1001, can't remember now. Agree with all of the above. Brutal, heavy and quite fun to use......until your elbow hurts.

Let me have a real play with it, I will tighten an M12 bolt with the little one, and undo it with the big one on its lowest setting, see how they really compare? As I only tend to use the bigger gun on M16+, I don't really use the settings, iirc it's default is the highest setting, although I can't recall when it defaults, definitely when you change the battery, so if your not careful, it's on the high setting and you didn't expect it.
