Coronavirus test rant

Yeah didn't have it

Most won't. And that is what is going to pee off Mr Hancock and the Tories. They are saying if any symptoms get a test - but lots of usual ailments have same symptoms. So every Tom, Dick and Harry will get tests. Then they will gte hacked off with all the neutral tests. Probably best to use track and trace in areas with definite local epidemics rather than across the country 'ad lib' to use an agricultural term. Hey ho.

Problem is kids cant go to school and we cant go shopping whilst waiting for results
Went to the school gates this morning with daughters negative test result paper and they were shocked that we’d even bothered, they said over 20% or children are off, we said that we’ve got work to do and we’ve had them for 6 months, also a few pensioners/at riskers in the family so wouldn’t want them to get anything so why wouldn’t we have them tested. The teacher said we were the first that had done it and brought the children back in :banghead: 🤷‍♂️ It does possibly mean that their whole class is negative and it’s a bad cold not coronavirus so they could take them all back but the email I had the other night was children only allowed back with a negative test result

And there we see how this farce is going to end. A shadow (terrorist) being chased. An important shadow (terrorist) but one none the less. Those folk who need to earn money are just going to have keep buggering in. Gong to get very divisive before we are finished.

Well your kids may not be able to go to school if you told the school and they know you are waiting for test. And as for shopping well good to see you are obedient and staying home. Some folk will have no money coming in and they have bills to pay. Hey ho. As i said earlier this is going to get divisive.

Hope you are all well and kids just get the usual snuffles and sniffles - all of which will drive umpteen tests for track and trace as we chase this shadow.

The problem with not getting tested is a lot of people will assume that they’ve got it so won’t bother getting tested, self isolate for 2-3 weeks and then they’ll think their immune, meanwhile a few weeks or months later they might actually get it but very mild symptoms and infect someone at risk etc, it is very much a lose lose scenario mind

Yep, I agree they will. If you follow the threads on here there is a few regular posters seemed convinced they had it back in January or earlier as they felt awfully ill. My they even had a cons[iracy theory saying CV19 appeared in EU back in the autumn. So there you go. Lose lose. But the reality. Cheers.

Yep I understand and concurr. Not much use for a self employed brickies labourer or that taxi driver though - he is going to struggle putting in a claim to his employer!!
True but all the better to get tested sooner. The one thing that I have never understood about self employed is having good insurance or saving for a period of sick/out of work

Were all certain down here that we all know a few that had it in February, my mother went to my sisters in Bristol mid January a week after my sister had been really really ill (very athletic person) mum was then desperately I’ll And out of breath a few weeks later and when she had an x-ray done on her chest The hospital said they’d never seen it before and when she had bloods done they said it wasn’t something they’d seen before, fortnight later my wife is in hospital for 10 days while I had to do the school run morning and afternoon for the first time ever, 2 weeks later the virus was on the news. Also know several others that had been to football/rugby stadiums in January/February and were desperately ill or a family member really bad to.

Depends what your earning. On £100k as a financial adviser / barrister / GP / Dentist, then maybe. On basic minimum wage type rate there ain't a lot of fat to save. Think our East European potato grading lads and lasses will keep a buggering in.

Were they tested for antibodies?
