Cost of structural fibres

I've just had a bill for some concrete work and they charged £17 / cube for structural (plastic) fibres.

I should have confirmed exact costs before the job was started but I assumed they would be in the £3-5 / cube range. Is £17 realistic or are they trying to fek me over?

Expensive I would have thought. I was under the impression it was around £5 per metre.

On another subject, did I see you walk past the volac stand yesterday at royal Cornwall?

Were they proper structural or anti crack fibres that look like hair? @RWG Contracts will have an idea on price.

Pp fibres would be in the £3/5 range, and I have layed concrete with the structural fibres (plastic with steel in side) that price to me sounds good considering that we worked it out and we were paying at least £20 /cube extra, so I would probably be happy with that,

Structural fibres - a fair price; shrinkage control fibres - dear. The two are very different. Usually you get asked how thick the concrete should be, how many layers of mesh, where in the slab, and size of bars, for the structural fibres to be used as a replacement.

These are just little bits of very soft plastic about 2 inches long, definitely no metal work inside.

Yes, it could well have been, I was there all day on Thursday. I hadn't been for 10 years or more but I hope I can make it back next year. I was on the look out for anyone I might recognise but didn't see a soul I knew apart from reps.

A definite lack of BF cows in the ring!
