Cost to setup and run an umbilical slurry system

Location

just a matter of curiosity. If we are all forced into nvz and our contractors become to busy I suspect this is a route we will be forced down. We currently only run one tractor on the mixer wagon and our self employed tractor driver stores his tractor here which has now been roped in temporarily for straw chopper duities.
So I guess we’d be looking at an engine pump?
1500m of pipe id guess would cover most of the area needed.
what sort of cost would get us setup to do our own?

I will just comment as an ex umbilical system owner and operator .
It's a bit like how long is apiece of string?
Pipes , size ? Material? Couplings ?
Pump , basic, middle or top quality?. Primer ? Flow rate?
Swash plate? Dribble bar or disc injector ( last 2 , how wide?)
Road crossing? Trailer to carry everything? Quad bike ? Air compressor?.
Sorry , not straightforward!!
Our system in 2007 was Spreadwise with Bauer pump,
1600m top quality 4 inch pipe, 5 m disc injector, air compressor, 2x pipe rollers to carry pipe
£ 35000 to start but that was 2007

I think we spent about 38k a couple of years ago for 1600m of pipe, pto pump, reeler and 6m dribble bar. There was a grant that at a guess paid about £6000 back off that. It does tie up two tractors and men, but can’t justify the cost of a standalone pump set.

It would be ideal if you could link up a remote control to the pump tractor? I think @eulb might have done something like this.

It was a big spend, but should last a while and has made spreading on cow paddocks easy.

Went to a farm sale and picked up a lot of gear now added to it but £10 a meter for used 5 inch. Pump 5/10k if u want to go new or not. Dribble bar 5/50k again if u want to go 7m or 36m. Doesn’t need to be expensive. Probably spend 40k and have good pump 2200m of 5 and 6 16m dribble bar 3x reelers. Could line it all up today and get all my money back easy

2018 bought a Doda pump,1000 meters of 4” pipe and a twin splash plate for sub 19k all new, chopped the splash in for a 7.5 meter dribble bar in 2020 which was around 11k and bought two reelers for £2750 each, have since added 400 meters of 5” pipe but can’t remember what I paid for that without looking, road compressor for blowing out cost me 3k,£1700 for a stirrer…can do the whole farm with 1400 meters and completely empty the lagoon with it.
Run 6130r on pump

Interesting reading would love it if our farm suited an umbilical…. Ah well we’ll keep working like we’re back in the 90’s 😂
