Quite happy with things the way they are for now!!! Only just managed to get back onto the land this week to do a bit of harrowing and post knocking.
Does any of you follow Tom Pemberton farmlife on You Tube? He is near Blackpool. He put a clip up yesterday of going accross a field with a gator, what bloody ruts that made!!!!

Yes please, good chunk of overseeding done today. A couple damp days would be grand.

It could do with warming up a bit while you're at it.
Weekend forecast gives 26C for soft southerners and 11C for me?

Yes I tried ploughing a field for maize and couldn’t get the plough in the ground. Had to get the subsoiler on

Much the same here. Ploughing first spuds and gave up as ground too hard.

Subsoiler now working to let the plough work.

Moved to plough to plough to another field for parsnips.

Then hit a wet spot......

Oops. I know the feeling . Yesterday I was rolling a rock hard field ( hoping to bruise it into tillering a bit), when I suddenly went down in a spot that’s usually the driest part of the field. Folded the rollers up, diff lock on and just about crawled out

The first of ours will have been in 2 weeks by then, I would say yours will catch it pretty comfortably, I see frosty nights are making an appearance next week.

What varieties have you gone for?
