We fairly regularly get phishing letters from developers, but this is a completely new angle on land purchasing. Maybe it’s not illegal but slightly dubious, based in Ireland and only recently been set up.

Hi I sold 20 acres of paddocks to them in April. Completed quickly keep, getting letters though which is annoying.

Sorry to dredge up an old post but was wondering if anyone has any further update on this company? I live in Essex (Uttlesford) and received a letter too this week, as did my husband. Have asked locally on Facebook and others in the local area received them too. Company registered in Ireland and the address appears to be a ‘Rent a mailbox’ address. https://www.mbe.co.uk/londonknightsbridge/contact-us
Definitely has to be a scam, an attempt to obtain land by deception surely? Really hope nobody falls for it. Have messaged trading standards but not sure if they can act on this.

We've had a letter as well. How would they obtain land by deception?
If they don't pay up then they don't get the land, or am I being naive?

Perhaps its for a 'caravan park'

Why do you say it is 'clearly not'. I'm not defending them at all, but have you heard about a deception occuring?
I was thinking of selling them a sloping, nationally important SSSI, down a narrow road, completely unsuitable for anything other than conservation, so we'll see how it goes.
I was not impressed by their letter, slagging off agriculture, and I would like to know who is backing them.

They have dropped the newcastle supporter on my letter, dated May. Just got the hedgehog.
Be interested to know if they want to acquire SSSI land
Easy enough to build in an Overage clause on any land sold.... ;)

A neighbour of ours sold her bungalow and land with overage, it was purchased by travellers. The list is endless what they did with the land and nothing was ever enforced. However it was eventually sold with huge house and she never did see her overage payment

Need to enforce it in Court I guess, if possible. At least with an erfing big house, the owner will not be skipping back to Mayo!
