Countryfile tonight

It all sounds a bit Saudi Arabia or North Korea to me...
Really?

Then I suggest you take yourself off to these two countries and try to have this open debate we're having here online in their land.

In this country, each side of the argument is allowedto make their case, and that goes for the so called "minority group " too. Whether they are in some perceived minority matters not, their voice deserves to be heard.

That's how homosexuality came to be decriminalised in this country, when, in supposedly less enlightened times than today, politicians and legal minds came together to ordain that a criminalised "minority "should no longer be targeted as illegals in this country, and the fact that they were a "minority, " didn't come into it .

If we took your thought processes to their "logical"conclusion, then we'd still have 60 's bobbies on the beat chasing after gents in overcoats out of the park shrubbery.

And anyway , what's this minority you speak of in the context of this debate?

Do you think that everyone who speaks out against homophobia is actually gay?

I'd be willing to wager that many are actually straight. ;)

That's the point. Unlike so many here, I've actually been to these places and experienced the culture. I speak from experience.

Live exports tonight. I am not a fan of calves or sheep being exported in large numbers but have no problem with small numbers of pedigree animals being shipped out. I do however agree with the haulier that if the jobs done correctly and officials also do there job correctly then theres no harm done. I do not agree with the hauliers comment that a ban on live exports would be terrible for uk farmers, it wouldnt affect many of us at all. I notice they didnt mention the grey area about british horses being exported via ireland live for slaughter on foreign shores.

why is the fact they are exported an issue surely its the length of the journey ?
a quick trip across the channel is bad but a trip from the top of Scotland to Cornwall is ok ?
don't make any sense to me
would this include export from NI to Ireland, that may only be a case of driving them down the road ?

Does my head in all the political correctness and token gestures on the BBC.
Hope they equally represented both Red and Grey Squirrels.
The bit that got me was there’s plenty places in the countryside and a lot of places owned by the forestry commission are wheelchair accessible but nah he just went to a car park

So because a word has several definitions it's fine to make a joke out of those committing suicide or in a suicidal state due to the ignorance of others, and a few folks like it so makes it acceptable and it's "worth it for a giggle".

I'm assuming/hoping that if you watched programme in its entirety that you will realise why some may not be so keen on that type of humour being based on such serious topic.
I never took it as anyone commiting suicide, merely that there were unlikely to be any gay/happy farmers about because they're all unhappy.
Or do you asume that all homosexual men are seconds away from stringing them selves up? Because I took your comment above as you assuming that all gay men must be suicidal.
