Here we go! The good old Beeb raking up and scaring the general populous on animal health issues jumping across to we humans. If as they are reporting there are many diseases that haven’t caused human health issues yet, isn’t it about time the work of the old ADAS used to do and funded by the state was once again bought to life? I’m not sure what’s happened since many research sites were closed down to “save money” but surely we need research now more than ever???

Anyone notice the Japanese knotweed along the sides of the Trent?
Good old EA

The only thing I noticed about the mighty Trent, was how big the bloody banks were, the commercial locks we had to navigate and the flow going the wrong way when we canoed round raising money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Unit.

Fuk I was knackered after that, but raised some decent money for a great cause 😊

I believe the actual number of cases is below the level that should be expected.

This was all covered in a TFF thread a few months ago.

And I doubt that more than 1 in a thousand farm animals die without the farmer having a fair idea of the cause of death.

178 cases of new variant CJD since 1990 up to 7th September this year and it should be taken into account that every case of degenerative brain disease will be subject to a post mortem.
Professor Richard Lacey died in 2019 so cannot be held to account for his predictions of thousands of deaths upon which the BSE controls were founded and nearly wrecked the UK beef industry.
30 years on and Scientists from Imperial College predicted 450000 deaths from COVID 19 in the UK and based on that prediction the whole UK economy is being wrecked.

A ‘fair idea of the cause of death’ is an entirely different thing to an accurate diagnosis imo. Precious few dead animals were PM’ed when there were more AHVLA labs scattered around, but given some farmers would be faced with a 200 mile trip now, the numbers being properly investigated currently must be laughable. ‘Surveillance‘ just isn’t happening any more.

But so many people were in favour of cutting back civil servants, and streamlining of State services to the point of near oblivion.
Imagine the howls of outrage from Telegraph and Daily Wail readers should moneys be spent on reinstatement. The idea of paying people pensions, ensuring good working conditions, etc is outrageous to those readerships.

Hardly a peep to show any in the media have twigged that Public Health England is no more. Its obliteration is as important to human health in this country as animal health surveillance is for our livestock and pets. Not an encouraging picture, is it.

You can add the Daily Express to the Daily Torygraph and the Daily Wail.
Doesn’t matter what is the latest ludicrous cock up made by BoJo, the Express will make it sound like yet another bold and determined stride on the road to putting the Great back into Britain, and a step closer to reclaiming our empire.
