so got distracted and forgot to download the application pack for mid tear, well to be honest I didn't realise the pack had to be downloaded by the end of May, and just knew the dead line to apply was end of July.

Has anyone successfully got an application pack post end of May?

Why would they have a close off date to download a pack before the end of the application period?

I assume because it's tailored to your farm with maps etc then if there is anything that needs correcting, it gives them time to issue you a new pack and still have time to apply. That said, they still haven't sent my client his new maps

There is always next year. I read the options annually then do something more rewarding like going on holiday.

Last year you can enter the countryside stewardship scheme as it currently is.

New trials start next year of the ELMS scheme thou apparently Defra want farmers themselves to fund the trial costs and the unions are saying no!

I have been trying to get one of those historical map things for my stewardship application, have been promised it several times over the last 3 months but not shown up, really getting to the stage its just not worth the hassle and haven't really got time before the end of July to sit down and work out a scheme anyway!

Getting paid is the difficult bit .

I had heard that, thing is we need to fence the farm at some point, can't keep doing electric fencing, so will have to pay for it anyway, even if we're not in a scheme. So even if the payment back is delayed it's still a result.
