Reading through some of your message it seems a bloody mess. So after speaking with a claimant yesterday who put in claim for cap ex work (cs stewarship) in July 19, I said I would seak out some info. What is the timeline for payment. Is it supposed to be Nov 19? I read some of you had payment for previous years in the following March and July?.

I put a final claim for capital works in Feb this year. I was told payment was 60 working days, which took us to early May 2019. When no payment appeared, I began chasing it. After an inspection in late June I was at my wits end, and after several phone calls to Natural England getting me nowhere, they suggested we contact one of the farming charities. We were sceptical and were not after a 'handout'! It turns out that they are able to advocate to the RPA/NE on our behalf, especially if it is causing difficulties. The charity were very helpful and took details of how much money was outstanding etc, and contacted the RPA for us. I think it did help, although some 'computer issues' meant that even after payment was approved it took until the beginning of August to pay us. If the claimant you are talking to is in financial hardship, or even just under a lot of stress because of the lack of payment I would highly recommend talking to RABI or similar, they really can help.

Yes had an email asking for all the rotational options again even though I don’t see how AB1 is rotational. Blaming on IT even though they requested a paper copy to be sent back in May, though ironically this version didN’t ask for where the rotational options were.

What I don’t get is if I agreed at application to plant 1ha of wild bird feed on field number xyz, surely I have to then plant that ha every year for 5 years in that field. Why do I need to say that I have planted it, if I haven’t the logic would be I’m in breach of my agreement.

Paperwork creating exercise that they can’t even manage in my opinion.

I spoke to the RPA on Friday and they said payments are supposed to now be from 1st Dec - 30 Jun same as BPS.

Which year? I'd put a smiley next to that if it was funny.

Wild bird feed plots are rotational and certainly won't last 5 years. Getting 2 years out of my AB9 is tricky enough so I replace the worst half each year, all on fresh ground. All my rotational option details were submitted in May - they did give the option to submit later in the year for things like SW6 cover crops but I'd already done my cropping plan by then so it wasn't an issue. AB1 nectar flower plots are 5 year options so I don't know why they are in the rotational section.

Hi, sorry if the following irritates but option AB1 (nectar flower mix) and AB9 (Winter Bird food) are both ROTATIONAL options, which while you may leave in same location for the full years of the scheme, and it sounds as though that is what you are doing, they are still potentially rotational, thus NE / RPA willl require annual confirmation of location.

thanks for reply, the claimant would be in hardship if they have too wait another 6 months, but for now I think its too early to do any thing, but sit tight.

I have a mapping query (not CSS related) and have a week to reply. They obviously realise that most farmers aren't able to take holidays. It's the 4 decimal places that gets me too
