I won't get it 100% correct so I'm not putting my neck on the line to be picked on and ridiculed which inevitably happens when someone disagrees on here.
But I'll start you off with 'gwair' which is hay not 'hair'

From what I see farm vehicles are pretty good for lights nowadays, no worse than any other category of vehicles on the road, it hasn’t always been so.
anyone who hits a tractor at night now has only themselves to blame, they are lit up like xmas trees

Absolutely, yes, but it was also what prompted her to mention small, self-driven tractors or similar that do not leave their fields, along with robotic milking bails, and self-propelled cattle shelters to maximise use of growing grass in situ, and stop all the running the roads that seems to be an escalating problem at present.
Trouble with that is, it's nearly impossible, in nearly all parts of the country, to leave your greenstar wotsit in a field without it getting pilfered, I can just imagine farmer brown going to check his drilling drones and hunting for a couple that have gone in the night

True, that's how things might be at the moment, but what might be possible when these devices are linked together wirelessly, and can monitor and be monitored 24/7?

Greenstars forming a defensive circle, maybe? Who knows?

It would be like looking for a new born lamb that you saw on the last rounds at night but for the life of you can't find it in the morning.

Someone wrote earlier lack of maintenance. This is often true in Essex with water not moving away from verge side due to grips and ditches not being maintained. The flip side is the width of modern machinery and lorries being wider and/or longer and heavier so that roadside edges are continually run on which then causes water laying in low ways. The edge of the tarmac then starts to break up. Before long there is a nasty surface. In some cases there might be sufficient verge to widen the carriageway slightly but who would pay?

All country roads have a massive build up of debris on the verges now, so they are teo or three feet higher than they should be , which keeps the water on the road.
All that wants removing, rxcept bt like to lay cables in its soft earth
I could show you a fence i put up 30 yr ago which is all but buried by road debris
