Hey folks, looking at a used cousins patriot. Wondering how deep or shallow people use them? And if different feet can be put on the legs for lower/higher disturbance work.

Very versatile, normally use mine for post harvest cultivations and anything to be over wintered. I go anything down to 16" and normally set the discs to about 2" just to stop the chance of heaving big bits at the end when its really dry and to leave a bit of tilth for the packer to leave a nice even level surface.

Not so good if you take the legs out if you just want to disc. Its just the geometry of it doesn't allow the discs to do a good job without the sucking effect of the tines infront of them. I was looking for a machine that could do both jobs in a 3m format but there isn't one so in my situation we need a subsoiler and a set of discs rather than one machine for both types of job.

Allways viewed as a poor mans sumo in my opinion but the patriot is easy to adjust discs unlike the sumo where you have to manually adjust the legs.i think the machine is very versatile and equally as good as the sumo
