Cover crop options please

In my opinion there is little chemical control in spring beans for weeds and I don’t want to be cutting them in October. Winter beans can be late enough to cut for me liking.
Einbock. And I wish I had combined mine in October last year rather than September at 17% 😭 traditional predictable seasons are a thing of the past now

So I’ve got the seed in the shed, field conditions are very dry and hard. Not much tilth on the heavier part of the field. Weather looks like it could provide some rain over the weekend so can I get away with spinning the vetch on and rolling in or will I need more tilth to get it to grow?

Dont spin it on... none will grow... drill it like a pea an inch deep
