Planning a summer cover to try control bg.

Debating plough and combi drill the cover then just glyphos and combi barley in

Or
Drill cover and plough and combi for the barley.

Idea 1 being a bit of a stale seedbed?

Have you got access to a tine or disc drill that would just stitch the barley into a sprayed off cover? It seems self defeating to move soil in the autumn which could chit more blackgrass in its main germination season.

What coulters do you have on the combination? Residues might clog Suffolk coulters.

Plough & combi the cc but don't get it too thick or the bg won't grow. Spray off cc, Moore the barley into good conditions.

Lincolnshire.
If the purpose of the cover crop is to control BG don't bother. Cultivate now wait for BG, spray off then drill. According to the forecast there will be plenty of moisture for BG germination.

Keep the cover crop seed rate well down& there's plenty of space for the weeds to grow.

Winter. I had to read through from the start to check I hadn't put the wrong thing myself.

What would you recommended for a cover crops, I have some radish I was thinking would get a bit of root down. Need at least something else to pass for summer cover
Radish isn't a good idea if you have blackgrass - as the bulb eventually rots, it allows the bg to come up from below
