I think all dairies will try this tactic.... Boris said the other day that he was not happy about supermarkets inflating prices of things... Still... I'm sure they have done it somehow... Begs a few questions... Why is the milk cheques taking longer when actually payme t of stock staff and overheads continue to mount up considerably in the meantime... Furthermore why put in place a lower milk price when frankly they will probably sell more than ever before because people will need this in there homes... They also have to bare in mind that the selling price is the same or at least round by us it is so why offer less ppl price.... Its because they can get away with it fully! Time to write to Boris I think considering how much he said that farmers are needed more than ever right now.... I don't think he would have a great views of the dairies peeing off all the dairy farmers when actually his country needs dairy and is buying it all off the shelves on a daily basis right at the moment.

things are being put in place I believe as we speak. They are well aware that a minimum price must be set in order to secure supply. There is panic now. Imagine if there was a shortage of food!

And to think I for one thought that the job would be ok for a bit.

Should have known ......... NEVER be an optimist. Just isn't worth it

our vets are now working from home, only using surgery to pick up drugs etc, sensible move, especially as our vet turned up in hot pants, before putting her waterproofs on.

How does that work then?
Was told by our vet today (pd checks) that even TB testing will continue.

Vet is here tomorrow morning for routine fertility visit. Have some 40 cows for her.

Meanwhile on milk price and demand...

From the Telegraph today...

Thousands have returned to having milk delivered to their doors, while computer monitor sales have doubled in a week as the nation begins working from home.

Milk and More, the UK's largest milk and groceries delivery service, has reported an increase of 25,000 customers and is recruiting 100 milkmen and women as local deliverers said demand had "gone berserk".

the idea is to keep vet to vet contact down, each vet working remotely, so if 1 catches it, the rest can carry on, good idea, small animals, split into shifts, but surgery open for them, cos, that's where the real money is !!!!, 19 odd pd's today, 15 I/c, including 3 we thought not, our blank firing bull, stopped about 1 in 15

Our milkman ((have pasteurised milk for the kids) We are about to start supplying them to be fair so doesn’t seem quite so bad) has stopped delivering yogurts, cheese, bread etc as demand for bottled milk has gone through the roof and was taking up space in the van, annoying as I love the yogurts.

Our dairy engineer is doing similar, only going to the yard to pick up parts as necessary and have asked us to stay away if they come out to a repair.

You won’t be the only one to have admired a young female vet putting her work gear on?

But at £25 plus call out fee and in excess of £100 an hour for their services, there are agencies out there who could offer better value, more bang for your buck so to speak.?

Indeed it has been reported in the newspapers many times over the years that some MP’s like to make use of such services so you do wonder if they’ll add them to the list of essential services too.?

had a good look before putting on waterproofs, and taking them off
I thought all 'other' places would be closed......unless termed as a vital service...….
one would hope, all mp's are busy dealing with this crisis, some hope there !
vet out to pre-movement test for Friday dairy mkt, now cancelled.

I don't get it. Why do some MP's need to use Vet Services? Is it just the ones that have a bit of farming on the side? And do they have to record this on "Members Interests"? Or is it another expenses fiddle, like a duck house?
