Covid jab - is it compulsory?

Since when have you believed that any vaccine could stop you being infected with any particular infectious agent? Vaccines cannot stop you from catching anything. They don't work that way. A vaccine can't physically stop you from inhaling, contacting or ingesting a virus or bacterium, etc. It isn't possible.

The vast majority of people who contract covid and are confirmed with it, experience not a lot more than a cold/flu type symptoms and get on with life within days.

The PCR test, whilst we are on the subject, is an incredibly sensitive test and from what I have read seems to be able to pick up tiny amounts of virus, even in people who have a very low viral load, recovering/un-infectious or totally asymptomatic.

Inhaling any virus is not the same as being infected. We carry millions of bugs which cause infections but we are not actually infected by them. Most vaccines stop them infecting us and we just live with them in our nose, gut, throat, etc

I went for my second booster jab on Saturday , it was virtually "walk -in" . The nurse said that's yer lot now until winter , when we start again with the flu jab in one arm , and the covid top up in the other . I've had no side effects so far , so perhaps there won't be any , there certainly were none from the others . It's obviously up to the individual whether to take it or not , but I'm not prepared to take the risk of covid , if the jabs will help .

trying to get on a plane to Canada has involved uploading and entering data into x3 apps, esta forms etc - doing that for x4 people is a couple hour of less than straightforward work and means giving huge amounts of personal data away

and we won’t ultimately know if we are going until kids test (more cost !) until just a few hours before we fly and have had to isolate from friends, work and family as much as possible for the week leading up to going

I feel a little mislead by governments over all this TBH, not in any conspiracy theory kind of way, I think the issue was genuine, however it seems to have turned into a great opportunity to take away a level of freedom from people and exercise more control over populations

It was never genuine, unless you were over 80 or had some other health condition. It was all a horrific waste of money, not to mention the damage done to childrens schooling, businesses etc.

Even 5yr ago I had no truck for conspiracy types, but now I find myself asking more questions. 2yr ago I was taking staff temps every morning, religiously sanitising, and as a family we didn’t go near a town for 2 and half months when lockdown hit.
After 6 months my wife started watching the death rates and it wasn’t what was reported on telly, and deaths from flu had disappeared. Even now, average age of persons who’ve died as sole result of covid is in the 80s.

Something stinks about the whole thing, not that I believe there wasn’t a real threat, i was scared. I know a healthy 45yr old who has aged 10yr because of covid. I’ve also first hand experience of someone perfectly healthy having a TIA within 2 wks of booster, on Xmas eve of 2021 and know of 3 others locally, plus a 14yr old girl who developed a tick after vaccination and has since lost all self confidence.

As for the rules, a satirist could of written some of them - mask on to walk into restaurant but off if sitting down, but on again to walk to toilet…..,Vertical drinking anyone??

Good to ignore all the millions of imunocomprimised people in this country whose lives will probably never return to normal as they run the biggest risks from catching covid.Also the ten percent of people that I know who have had covid now livng with long covid complications probably for the rest of their lives Catching it is just a lottery if you happen to part of the ten percent. Vaccines are not a quick fix and it will probably take ten years to fully understand this virus and create new treatments for all its complications.My accountant in his late forties had it last September and was hospitalised after 3 weeks with low blood oxygen levels. I .saw him last week and was in shock .He is bent over like and old man in his seventies He currently attends hospital on a weekly basis for lung function tests as he has lost 25% of lung function. It is not flu like for some people and for those who have had no ongoing issues just be thankful for that. In my own case my son a successful kidney transplant patient of 14 years suddenly lost all his hair two weeks ago. He has just undergone a battery of tests.Worst case scenario is cancer of the lymph nodes something only 3% of transplant patients experience so I know all about lifes lottery when itcomes to disease. He was one in 50000 children that get his specific kidney disease at the age of two and then one in millions that do not self cure at puberty. .

The figures have been manipulated from day one to scaremonger people into taking unsafe vaccinations that cause more harm than good and ultimately shorten peoples life’s through reactions , strokes heart attacks . I bet all of us have seen a huge rise in people u know having heart issues or sudden deaths , I know we do .

'Conspiracy' is an misused term to fit in with people's worrying inability to take on board other opposing views just because it doesn't meet with their own ideology.

I'm not sure the stats were exaggerated, they were never very dramatic really but media whipped up a mass panic that most feel for. Seems most people didn’t understand statistics or odds !

i recall being shot down on here when i suggested the odds if dying if under 50 were utterly tiny and very slim even if older. Schools should NEVER have been closed - there was never any real measurable risk to children

Some real harm done to children who have gone from infants to toddlers in last 2yrs and never known anything other than masks, lock downs and isolation. It’s really sad.

we will live with unintended consequences for years - it’s affected a lot of children eduction and the NHS is going to struggle to cope with the mental health issues and late detected cancers etc which will kill more than covid has

People need problems It seems, the more comfortable and wealthier a society becomes the more trivial those problems become ........ aka "woke"
