The Wellie. Had some great nights in there. We were working in Newton Abbot and stayed in a holiday cottage for about 2 months in IpplepenYou're probably thinking of the Denbury Arms. Fine pub.

WTF? You rallied a proper Escort and take meds by diktat? What's that about?Long term is looking good. 10 hours in, I’m still alive although feeling pretty jaded.
Not taken out of choice and I’m feeling very pee'd at being forced into it

Classification of Covid death has changed hence figures aren't comparable. These days it'sthe news gives the impression we are making progress but in what area are we making progress if cases are 20,000 higher than a year ago and deaths 138 today, 15 a year ago
.Classification of Covid death has changed hence figures aren't comparable. These days it's
Anyone dying within 28 days of a positive test
Anyone going to hospital with a life-threatening condition who tests positive while there
Anyone whose name has any of the letters from the word Covid in
Anyone who stopped breathing when they died (since Covid is a respiratory disease so must be the cause)
- are all Covid deaths.
Not being flippant but any stats on this issue can all be taken with a pinch of salt. Others have called the Govt out on this.
I don't think anyone knows how many have been directly killed by the virus alone.
They don't give the number because they don't want to but is 5 or lessHow many ever die of “just one thing”? And how many of us would have no co-morbidities if we were to succumb to Covid? I’ve written before, but around 15% have asthma or similar, 60-70% are overweight/ obese. It really doesn’t leave many healthy types out there (and many wouldn’t even know they have them - as the pro footballer found out last month).
It’s a tactful answer to a rather silly question, imho, and probably was an unwelcome distraction to NHS personnel who were working flat out on day job too.
They basically saying they might constructively identify the person/people involved and need to respect patient privacy.
It doesn't kill healthy people in numbers that are in any way significant to public health.
It doesn't kill a significant number of people with only asthma as a co-morbidity.
Yes, it is a real waste of time working out how many people are actually dying of covid...why bother?
You think it's masterful judgement by politicians in timing of applying restrictions that caused the threatened " overwhelmed in 3 weeks" to never happen? That's always the case with any low numbers - and rightly so.
It's killed quite a few, as we have discussed. Worst year of deaths in quite a few, going on the published numbers. And that's with the countermeasures in place to curtail its spread through the population so that the NHS wasn't swamped. The curve was flattened, and we didn't run out of beds, ventilators, nurses or grave diggers in the early days.
Matthew CH 24
3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
