The long term risks are unknown, you would agree?
Short term effects are clearly under reported

The long-term risks are no worse than the risks involved with getting Covid.

Aside from that everything in the future is unknown to some degree. Farming should teach you that!

Short-term effects are closely monitored by the Yellow Card scheme where people can self-report and clinicians can report as well.

The only thing I find worrying is the fact the JCVI decided that.
"The assessment by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) is that the health benefits from vaccination are marginally greater than the potential known harms. However, the margin of benefit is considered too small to support universal vaccination of healthy 12 to 15 year olds at this time".
The UK government have pressed on anyway and our PM seems to have just crashed on and approved it without any debate.
I'm waiting to see what happens in the under 12 group. Its worrying because the way its going here people are being forced to get it and there's not really any discussion about it or peoples rights.

Indeed yes, long covid is definitely a thing.
However, if the alternative is dead, it might be a better option.

Considering 250,000 died in a much smaller UK population during Spanish flu we might come out of this far better.

In the vaccine argument people talk about the risk of vaccine vs the risk of covid/ long covid. Given the limited data available so far and the fact that 'vaccines were never meant to stop infections' I fail to see how that stacks up.
With reports/ studies about long covid and how non hospitalised cases are still more likely to have heart issues within a year of infection and all the other doom and gloom stories plus the infection numbers, the vaccine argument is getting weaker by the day.
Less likely to transmit is now based on more asymptomatic cases so surely asymptomatic non vaxxed are also unlikely to transmit yet have to isolate when in contact with a positive even if no symptoms or already had disease?

UK population in 1918 was just over 10m , the country must have been nearly empty

Lots of ongoing research into long Covid and treatments for it as we type and across all age groups.
The government has given at least 15 research projects around £20 million to find out the short, medium and long term impacts.

Not at all happy about things like that happening.
My uncle caught Spanish Flu when he was in primary school. Six months later he started with the first symptoms of impaired motor control. He died in 1941 having been in a wheelchair and mostly unresponsive for the preceding 10 years.
