Covid Vaccine Roll out.

France paid for its error over AZ, didn't it? The UK was overcautious about the under 40s, and dragged its heels dreadfully by delaying the ok for pregnant women to receive the vaccines. That doesn't mean that there wasn't understanding ~ just caution. With pregnant women, that caution could be seen as a scandal, imv.

The whole world would love to know who will have which side effects, if any. For the vast majority of people ~ absolutely vast majority, in the case of covid vaccines ~ feeling a bit grotty after a jab is just one of those things that happens when the immune system confronts a vaccine, and learns how to make defences against the virus (or bacterium) represented in the vaccine. Significant side effects are rare, but they are understood. From the beginning of the vaccine roll out, they were stated in vaccine information sheets which were available for reading online, as well as given to people on accepting their offer of vaccination.
Check out the bbc reporter in the video a few posts up long covid or vax injury these people are being ignored

Maybe in an ideal world, every corner pharmacy would be manufacturing local vaccine for local use? 😉
You have allowed yourself or become frightened due to over the top hype and propaganda over along period of time , you are not alone and I think this is one of the biggest disasters of the pandemic it will take time for you to see past this and some will need specialist help to get back to normality

What we have now isn't too dangerous and we have to live with it, with vaccines to help obviously. My wife has it now and has mild symptoms, so she should really as she's had 5 vaccinations.
Anybody who thought it was harmless at the start with the original version and no vaccines would be better saying nothing than confirming their stupidity. Did I read somewhere that 2 million have died in Europe alone?
The fatality rate was calculated near the start and this figure was proved to be spot on as time went by but ignored by our government as they went with Fergusons model which has been shown for what it is wildly inaccurate

Er, you have jumped to a patronising conclusion about me, there. You really should get off the farm more.

Going back a bit now but I think Ferguson's figure was what to expect if we didn't take steps to halt the spread? which Boris was reluctant to do, happy to be corrected.
The figure we have now is hardly insignificant, however it was reached.

Take his recent nonsense he spouted about omicron around Christmas the man is a disgrace who should not be listened to him and sage gave wildly misleading information to spark fear in the population you could even call it covid misinformation . If you want to see why his predictions were nonsense go further back and look at what he said would happen in Sweden as they didn’t lockdown he was completely wrong .

Yeah but was I right about the circumstances? if I was your original point was a bit misleading.

Ferguson was that concerned about the fantastic numbers he had dreamt up he was breaking covid rules that used his numbers to force them onto the general public while he continued to bang a married women throughout lockdown he knew his numbers were nonsense and he was at little risk so paid no attention to the rules/laws

There was a concern that the nhs could be overwhelmed the reason for this is it’s at almost full capacity every winter and has been for years so covid with a fatality rate of a bad flu season was always going to be a problem

Rare and known about is far from understood in my view. There's still a few years to go before many will be sure that vaccines were understood.

Big pharma must love people like you , you actually believe everyone is at serious risk from covid in all honesty I think we are going to have to reprogram a lot of people they are psychologically damaged/brainwashed by a couple years of propaganda . Even a man who has pushed this from the start to make an absolute fortune has had to start admitting it’s fatality rate is equivalent to the flu and mainly effects the elderly
Also it now seems that the fourth vaccine [booster] is only effective for a maximum of six weeks against severe illness and isn’t anything like as effective as natural immunity from prior infection.

The greatest, but not the only current risk, seems to be from ‘long Covid’ which should not be underestimated as, for those that get it, it can be very debilitating. A lady was here not an hour ago that had Covid between Christmas and New Year and she was quite poorly until the end of March and is still far from right even today.

The vaccines were rolled out for use a long while before the normal routine safety tests were completed, under ‘emergency use’ exceptions. It was only through use and experience that the dangerous side effects were found. Baring that in mind, what would you have said, and I bet it would be plenty, if any or all the vaccines caused abortions or deformities or brain damage to the unborn children?

Fine. After the event. Just as with the actual severe side effects suffered by a minority of people, hindsight is a marvellous thing. However YOU didn’t have to take the responsibility of risking the health of unborn babies at that time, before safety tests had been completed and while the risks were unknown and unquantifiable.

Neither did you ... ? :scratchhead:

What these recent analyses show up is just how much effort antivaxxers have made throughout to misinform ~ aided by politically motivated destabilising bots. The nearest MSc to hand has spent a lot of not-really-spare time debunking misinformation about vaccines and death rates since the first lockdown, and is immensely pleased to see every piece of evidence that shows antivaxxers to be wrong.

Of course I didn’t but I’m not the one condemning their care in reducing risk. They took a massive risk in approving general emergency use to start with but the balance of risk there must have been seen as positive for vaccination, as indeed proved to be the case even though adverse reactions were far higher than initially claimed or wished for. It was still a good call. Risking mass deformities and abortions was however a risk too far for them until more information became available.

Yes, that's the case, although there was enough information for the UK to change its advice about taking the vaccines some time before it did.

There are still some people continuing to spread fear of vaccination in pregnancy who cite that caution in order to do it. The techniques used are being charted.
