Probably been asked before, So apologies if so, but do you need any sort of permission to just dig a hole on your own land and extract the bedrock for making cow tracks on your own land?

Weve always imported it before now under license, but it’s hard to get the right stuff now. I’d just rather find it myself on the farmHave you not kept your extraction exemption going with the EA?
We were reported as well.we were accused of selling stone from our 'hole', we weren't, they inspected, asked how many meters of track we had, and reluctantly said it was fine, for own use. That is the 'red tape jobsworth ###' view, good enough for me !
Surely lha can only be involved if track joins a roadFor the past ten years or so I have been using catchment sensitive grants/water grants to create a network of hardcore cow tracks on the farm. But having put in another claim last week for reimbursement have now been asked to supply evidence of consent from the LHA (local highways authority), or written details of why consents were not required. This is new to me...has anyone else come across this?
just been speaking to a Natural England person, and apparently it is all to do with footpathsSurely lha can only be involved if track joins a road
there is no footpath anywhere near the field, but apparently we still need a response from the county council to say no consent is required! amazingwell, apply for another grant, for upgrading the foot path, no one asked us for planning, when we did ours.

They do like to think I farm in a National Park time warp

I think it's relatively new, friend of mine applied to concrete his yard and has to get a written response from the planners to say he didn't need planning at a cost of £30
It's a requirement for the grant. Wouldn't need to consult planners if funding it himselfWhat would the planners do if he told them to feck off? Refuse him permission he didn't need?
