So if you start serving cows at day 17 that is your VWP, add 21 days is day 38 therefore every cow served after day 38 has missed the first 21 day period for preg rate. Is that correct?

VWP is not even a thing, as said above you start serving 283 days before your planned start of calving and serve everything that comes in season, so the more cows that calve in the first 6 weeks of your allotted block the better as you have less cows sub 42 days the following year, which in turn drives conception rates higher still.

Didn't you say your Preg rate was 54%, you need a VWP to get a preg rate?

We don't. We start serving at day 84 and serve anything bulling. Served our last heifer to calve at 21 days on day 1 of service, just served her again! Bugger
once we start, we serve everything bulling, sub 365 days CI, there are 31 cows, lowest 281 days, that was a bit quick, and she hasn't milked to well !
Herd figures are slightly skewed, as we carried some dec/jan/feb cows over. 82 cows, in spring block, 63 held 1st service.
Hol breeders are putting increasing importance on fertility, so the ayr herds should be able to get better 'performance'.
