Crankshaft re grind

who do you use?

Old 474 has its out and is needing a tidy up, I messaged a couple of companies last week asking for a rough idea of price to do the job but never heard back from them.

Please have a look on the front web of the crankshaft. IF it has an N stamped on it itit complicates things, it means it's nitride hardened.
With a nitride hardened crank you can only regrind to stage one without having to harden the crank again.
On the other hand if there's no N stamped on you are ok to regrind to stage 3 if required as it will be induction hardened.
Stage one 10 thou
...................20 thou
...................30 thou
The three stages of regrind on those cranks.

Engine resources or agra engineering in Dundee will both grind them, however it might be worth pricing a new one as when I did my b275 it was cheaper to buy a new one than get all the journals reground

Take it up to philip engineering, in elgin. They do first class work. Have been dealing with them for 30 years, never had an issue. Phone up and speak to Allan or John.

+1
Allan has done a few jobs over the years for me, high quality job each time.
Never even consider anybody else now.
Bit different for @davieh3350 as he's not that handy.
@ORRA LOON has a fair connection there, TFF discount??? :):):)

That's where I'm headed. He's the only one out of 3 that I messaged that got back to me. Going to the slaughterhouse at granton next week so I'll carry on after. Good excuse for a tour.
